In the winter of 2021, Kaido approached me with a script he had written for an animated short. It was during the height of the lockdown—a time when uncertainty and isolation weighed heavily on so many of us. I loved Kaido’s script and his effortless and truly original storytelling. Having just started my MA studies in Animation, this project felt like the perfect opportunity to put my newly acquired skills into practice. Once the animation was complete, an incredibly talented team brought the project to life: Laura Irish provided the voice acting, Petra Salsjö composed a magical score, and Clélia Borget’s SFX editing made it all feel real. Kaido then took charge of distribution, and this small, self-funded project went on to enjoy a successful festival run.
